ABSTRACT
This study examines the public perception of intimate partner violence and the social work intervention processes as panacea in addressing the menace. It adopted the survey research design while the populations of the study were both dating and married couples. The sample size of the study was 100 and it adopted the simple random sampling method. The study utilized both quantitative and qualitative approach in data collection. Results show that intimate partner violence is a common challenge and Social work professionals can help in enhancing victims of IPV coping mechanism so as to address the problem.
