Social networking sites (SNS) have radically changed how people connect, and interact with each other in this present age. It has emerged as the lynchpin of online communication as the digital landscape continues to develop, allowing people to connect, share, and work together from all over the world. In an era dominated by social networking platforms, concerns about excessive screen time and its impact on users' well-being have garnered significant attention. This research aims to address this issue by proposing an innovative control mechanism designed to manage the amount of time spent on social media platforms. The development of a social networking site provides the foundation for implementing this control mechanism. By integrating features that monitor and regulate user engagement, such as time limits, activity tracking, and notifications, the proposed system empowers users to establish healthier digital habits. Through an iterative design process and user feedback, the effectiveness and user experience of the control mechanism will be evaluated. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on responsible technology usage and offers practical solutions to mitigate the potential negative effects of excessive social media consumption.
