ABSTRACT
This work sets out to critically examine the lacuna that has existed between ideas and reality in the area of social justice in Nigeria, using the Biblical understanding of social justice and how it can be used as a reference in Nigerian, political, social and economic system. It further researches into the practices and implementations of social justices and subsequently observes that the politico-economic systems promote inequality; and even when it appears that efforts are being made to implement social justice. What actually obtains in practice is that a few individual are enriched while majority of the people are wallowing in abject poverty. This work concludes that, with a clear biblical understanding of the concept of social justice and how the Jews were able to remedy the social injustice of their time, Nigeria as a nation can be similar measures cub the problems.
