ABSTRACT
The study investigates social causes of communication breakdown on job performance in Nadia Group of Company, Benin City. The study adopted the survey research design on the bases of which data were sourced from the staffs of Nadia Group of Company, Benin City. The study adopts simple percentage and chi square to analyze the research hypotheses. The result shows that there is relationship between poor communication management in the work place and job performance in Nada Group of Company Limited. This implies that poor communication can have negative impact on the job performance of the employees. The result revealed that that there is relationship between miscommunication in the workplace and job performance in Nadia Group of Company Limited. The result aw indicated that there is relationship between proper interpersonal communication in the work place and job performance in an organization. The study recommend that managers need to communicate with employees regularly to get feedback and offer suggestions in other to prevent confusion about future assignment; this will help improve workers performance and organizational productivity. In addition, top managers should communicate directly with their subordinates on issues of importance. Organizations should eliminate the barriers on communication and create efficient, participative, and transparent communication medium to improve workers commitment. Organizations should continue to investigate new motives for communicating, since motivation causes and sustains behaviors. Equally inviting is the prospect of extending the study in the form of a more ambitious research project focusing on in-depth analysis of communication motives not covered in this research. Organization should work on the role and effect of technology, the growth of group participation and how it influences communication between workers, dealing with professionalism, which would be highly relevant within the interpersonal communication context, differences in communication between males and females.
