Abstract

This project attempts to address the problem of Federal universities not leveraging IoT technology to establish smart classroom environments that ensure safety and comfort in our schools. The project aims to simulate an IoT driven smart classroom environment. The study combines preliminary document and observation approach and Simulation Based Research (SBR) methodology in simulating the smart classroom. This simulated smart classroom environment demonstrates how IoT Technologies can function together to enhance safety and comfortability within the classroom. Key functions of the simulated smart classroom include fire monitoring, smoke detection, RFID authentication and authorization and temperature regulation. The adoption of IoT technology to establish smart classroom environments will be a major upgrade to the traditional classroom setting and also ensure comfort and safety in our Federal institutions.
