ABSTRACT
Public health is constantly faced with pandemics presented by microorganisms of various kinds. This was the case in Wuhan, Hubei Province near the end of 2019 when a pneumonia-like disease of unknown aetiology emerged without any warning and spread through the indigenes gaining further ground throughout the rest of China so much so that in the heart of February 2020, the pathogen had infected European Nations, America was not exempted, and African Nations were not spared either and so was the fate of the rest of the world. The disease was determined to be caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS)CoV-2. The purpose of this study is to assess the presence of COVID-19 antigen and antibodies in the serum of students at the University of Benin.
