ABSTRACT
This study presents a comprehensive petrophysical analysis of four wells within the "Oredo Offshore" field located in the Niger Delta region. The primary objective was to evaluate the properties of both the reservoir rocks and the fluids in these wells. The key parameters under examination included porosity, effective porosity, volume of shale, formation resistivity factor, resistivity of water, hydrocarbon saturation, bulk water volume, and net pay thickness. The analysis incorporated a suite of well logs, including gamma ray logs, resistivity logs, neutron logs, density logs, and neutron density overlay logs. These logs provided crucial data for characterizing the subsurface formations and hydrocarbon reservoirs. The results of the evaluation unequivocally confirmed the presence of hydrocarbons in all four wells. Specifically, Well 1 revealed the presence of four distinct hydrocarbon-containing reservoirs, Well 2 exhibited three such reservoirs, Well 3 contained three hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs, and Well 4 showcased five reservoirs containing hydrocarbons. Further examination of the data allowed for the determination of oil-water contacts in each of the wells.
In Well 1, these contacts were identified at depths of 11,460 feet, 12,110 feet, 12,690 feet, and 13,080 feet.In Well 2, oil-water contacts were observed at depths of 12,120 feet, 12,700 feet, and 13,090 feet. Well 3 exhibited oil-water contacts at depths of 12,120 feet, 12,660 feet, and 13,080 feet, while Well 4's oil-water contacts were noted at depths of 11,470 feet, 12,130 feet, 12,710 feet, and 13,100 feet. These findings offer valuable insights into the hydrocarbon reservoirs' characteristics and distribution within the "Oredo Offshore" field, contributing to a better understanding of the region's petroleum resources.
