ABSTRACT

This project was carried out to contribute to the availability of controls at the University Of Benin for the use of the department and the society at large. It was done with the use of GNSS equipment with observation in static mode for at least 30 minutes. The control points were monumental in such a way that they are free from disturbances, multipath and open for satellite acquisition. These controls were tied to an already existing control established in the past. A minimum of fifteen(15) satellites were acquired by the GNSS receivers during observation with a dilution of precision(PDOP) value range of 1.2 to 2.8. The recorded data were downloaded and processed using Geomatics Office software. Network adjustment, for the newly established control stations was carried out as the master station was held fixed. The final coordinates from the post-processing were plotted using QGIS.In conclusion, more work should be done on this project topic for better availability of controls in the study area and also protection of the established controls should be taken seriously to avoid cases of reestablishment when the need arises for them.
