ABSTRACT

This study investigates the influence of school location on the academic performance of secondary school students. The location of a school, whether urban, suburban, or rural, can significantly affect various aspects of a student's educational experience, including access to resources, quality of teachers, and the overall learning environment. Initial findings reveal a nuanced relationship between school location and academic performance. Urban schools often provide greater access to educational resources and extracurricular activities, potentially enhancing academic outcomes. Conversely, rural schools may foster a more close-knit and supportive community environment that positively impacts student performance. The study also explores disparities in teacher quality, facilities, and technology access across different school locations. Moreover, socio-economic factors and the demographic composition of students in various locations are considered as potential confounding variables. The study aims to provide valuable insights for educational policymakers, administrators, and stakeholders, enabling them to make informed decisions to address disparities and optimize the learning environments for all secondary school students, regardless of their school's location. Further analysis and implications will be discussed in the complete research paper.
