ABSTRACT

This research study investigates the impact of school culture on school effectiveness in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area Of Edo State. The objective of this study was to understand how school culture influence the academic performance of Students in public senior secondary schools. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining questionnaires administered to 100 teachers and checklists distributed to 10 pupils across various public senior secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area. The Data gathered through questionnaire were analyzed using Descriptive statistics, percentage, and chi-square. The data collected for the study was analyzed using frequency tables and simple percentages. Its reliability was established at 0.07 using social sciences statistics tools (SPSS) The finding showed that there is a relationship between school culture and school effectiveness in public secondary schools located in the Ovia North East region of Edo State, Nigeria. From the respondent opinion it was discovered that teachers and staff in this school feel that their opinions and suggestions are valued in the decision-making process, and to some extent school provides a safe and welcoming environment for learning.
