ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to investigate and examine the Safety skills required by Technical College Electrical Installation Students in handling equipments (A Case Study of Government Science and Technical College (GTSC) Benin City). The data collected was analyzed on the basis of four research questions. This study consist of (50) fifty samples representing all the learners who are currently attending Government Science and Technical College, Benin under the Department of Electrical and maintenance work. The total population has an estimate of 143 Students. The major instrument for data collection was based on questionnaire and was validated by the supervisor and two other lecturers in the department of vocational and technical education and the reliability was done by administering to twenty other students who were not part of the sample before it was administered to the respondents. The statistical tool used for the data analysis and findings was the frequency count and simple percentages. Finally, it was concluded that all workshop users should have good knowledge on safety skills needed before working in the workshop, that will reduce potential hazards that could take place in the workshop.
