SUMMARY
The broad objective of this study was to examine rural development as a means of combating rural urban migration in Oredo Local Government Area. The assumption was that effective HRP will ensure that rural development can be adopted as a viable and effective for combating rural urban migration in Oredo Local Government Area. In addition, there were four (4) specific objectives which were; to ascertain the effect of provision of good education in rural areas on rural urban migration in Oredo local government area; to determine the effect of rural infrastructural development on rural urban migration in Oredo local government area; to find out whether improved standard of living in rural areas will reduce rural urban migration in Oredo local government area; and to establish whether increased employment opportunities will reduce rural urban migration in Oredo local government area.
