ABSTRACT
This project work attempts to evaluate the prolific nature and economic viabilityby accessing the volumetric estimation of Joy Field in the Niger Delta Basin, using3D seismic data in SEG Y format and Well data comprising of well header, welllogs (Joy 100 & Joy 200), well deviation data, and well checkshot data. Theresultindicated that Sand A is the only hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir identifiedbygamma ray log in Joy Field. 5 major faults as well as 21 minor faults weredelineated using the seismic data. A time-depth surface map of the reservoir wasgenerated using different seismic attributes such as RMS amplitude andaverageenergy. Petrophysical evaluation of reservoir A gave the following results: netthickness of about 151.38ft and payzone thickness of 276.07ft; it has total porosityof 21%, effective porosity of 15% permeability, 1152.64085mD, fluid type: oil andwater; hydrocarbon saturation of 84.5%, and a prospect area of about 749.7328acres. The combination of the aforementioned, have been used to estimatethereservoir fluid volume at surface condition: which is about 142,131,973.297bbl. The combination of the petrophysical analysis and volumetric estimationof reservoir A shows that reservoir A in Joy Field is a prolific reservoir for hydrocarbon development and production.
