ABSTRACT
Using the qualitative and analytic method, this research deploys the sociological theory to examine the terrible conditions suffered by citizens of a particular Society. It examines how the society affects the lives of citizens In Nigeria. Social dislocation problems like insecurity, banditry , kidnapping, mugging , moral decay and bad governance etc.. The effect of bad governance, moral decay , exploitation and self slavery is seen in the collection of poems as the society is nothing to write home about .moral decay , bad leadership and exploitation are clearly seen in the day to day dealings of Nigerians . Nigeria is faced with similar ordeal eating deep into the country’s economic, political and social growth . This research without restraints concludes emphatically that the different poems from waiting for Dawn” undeniably the reality of the average man living in the Nigerian society.
