ABSTRACT

The adsorption capacity of cow bone activated carbon in removing hydrocarbons from oilfield produced water forms the aim of this study.Standard procedures were used to determine the physio-chemical properties of the produced water. The functional groups, surface characteristics and elemental composition of the adsorbent were analyzed using standard procedures. Response surface methodology was used to vary the process parameters in evaluating the adsorption capacity of the cow bone activated carbon.
