ABSTRACT
This research project investigates the reliability of gas turbine power plants using the Weibull distribution and least squares methods. This will be done by evaluating the operations data for a period of one year (January- December 2023), this will give rise to the time to failure data which will be used in obtaining the reliability of the gas turbines (GT’s). The Weibull distribution, known for its ability to model failure times in various engineering systems, will be employed to analyze historical failure data from gas turbine power plants. Least squares techniques will be utilized to estimate the key parameters of the Weibull distribution, allowing for the characterization of failure behavior and prediction of future maintenance needs. The analysis will focus on obtaining the reliability of the power plant’s gas turbines.
