ABSTRACT
This research paper is a constructive attempt at using locally sourced materials in refurbishing a moribund electric throwing wheel that can be usedin the production of ceramic wares in the studio. The lack of enough throwing wheel in the ceramics studio of the Department of Fine And Applied Arts, University Of Benin has affected the productivity of the students, whereby the entire ceramics students have to rely on just one electric throwing wheel to meet up with assignments and projects. This research is aimed at fulfilling the aspirations of most ceramist in developing countries, especially Nigeria. It will also serve as a resource materials for subsequent research.
