ABSTRACT

Computer and data network attacks are now a frequent and challenging problem. Network security is now the focus of intrusion detection, which has changed its focus from hosts and operating systems to networks. Intrusion detection seeks to identify improper and unauthorized internal and external use of the computer systems. In most cases, intrusion detection systems allow statistical anomaly and rule-based misuse models to identify intrusions since they take into consideration how the behavior of the invading element differs from that of the authorized user. In this study, a framework that makes it simple to spot particular types of intrusion attacks—more precisely, wormhole attacks—is put into place. We only accomplish this in the case of systems that follow the paradigm of the Internet of Things.
