SUMMARY
This research work is aimed at looking at the racism and oppression in black American literature: a study of Richard Wright’s native son and black boy. The instruments used include library research and text analyses. Chapter one deals with introduction, background to the study, Richard Wright’s autobiography, purpose of the study, scope and limitation, methodology used and justification. Chapter two of the work is basically concerned with literature review with the views of different authors on the nature and problems of racism and oppression in black American literature and theory backing up the study. Chapter three centered on the thematic analysis of native son by Richard Wright. Chapter four reflected the thematic analysis of black boy by Richard Wright. Chapter five covers conclusion.
