SUMMARY
Examining the quest for fame and power, it is very clear that Pastors do a lot of evil before they acquire the powers they get to perform the wonders we see in churches from Africa. Like Pastor Jeremiah, most Pastors do not ponder further, because they believe they are not the cause of their members’ misfortune and so they stop absolving themselves of any blame rather, they blamed the society for pushing them to the extreme. They blame the government of the day for everything that went wrong in the society. They blamed those who ran government for jettisoning their responsibilities for personal aggrandizement, there by inflicting the society with myriad acute problems. The society thus become one of poverty, sickness, barrenness, greed, robbery, immorality, lies, halftruths, unfaithfulness, promiscuity, corruption, avarice, excessive want and death. The problems are massive and are not easily solved by either the society or government. The 48 society had no choice but run to religion for solution. They turn to Pastors with miracles for solution. Pastor Jeremiah like other African Pastors feels it was a pity because the pastors had no solutions to the problems rather, the Pastors were actually the problems because they want fame and power to meet up and so they cause more problems for themselves and others.
