Method: The Ethics Committee of UBTH approved this descriptive study. The study was carried out in UBTH, Participants were asked to answer an adapted KDQOL-36 and a socio-demographic questionnaire. Statistical tests were used according to the variables of interest and significance was attributed to differences with p-values < 0.05. Results: A Total of 105 respondents was selected for the study. Adapted KDQOL-36 Version 1.3 questionnaire was used to collect data, data generated were processed and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20; both descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Findings revealed more of the respondents were males (63.8%) and females (36.2%). The domain of quality life mostly affected was the physical domain 69(65.7%).There is no significant relationship between the socio demographic variable of respondent’ (age p= 0.331, gender p= 0.173, educational qualification p=0.389, duration of illness p=0.851) and their quality of life. There is no significant difference in the quality of life between male and female respondent with CKD with (p=0.173). Overall Quality of life was fair among the respondents. The significant predictors of quality of life were adherence to drug, activities of daily living, level of education, having more than one co-morbidities, level of income and going for regular check-ups. The study therefore recommend that to improve physical domain of quality of life, patients need to by themselves adopt interventions to improve their quality of life such as adherence to drug regime, regular exercise and checkup and eating healthy.
