ABSTRACT
A tremendous and profound increase in the use of Quinine and Chloroquine medicinal products and Supplements as Panacea for Malaria has been noticed within the past three decades with over 80% of the estimated vast population of the planet Counting on the Pharmacological remedies of medicine in conjunction with other therapeutic chemical agents(drugs) as an essential part of primary healthcare in Urban and developed areas. The aim of this study was to ascertain the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), Cancer Antigen (CA125), and Cancer Antigen (15-3) Cancer Markers Induction after exposure to Artesunate, Pyrimithemine and Sulfadoxine in Albino Wistar rats. A total of One hundred and nine (109) Albino Wistar rats Comprising Fifty-four (54) Male and Fifty-five (55) Female Albino Wistar rats were used in this Study and placed in Five (5) test groups namely; groups I, II, III, IV and V representing the tests, and Three (3) Control groups namely groups VI, VII and VIII representing the Control. 1.7mg/12mg/kg body weight test group, 4mg/10mg/kg body weight test group, 4mg/8.3mg/kg body weight test group, 4mg/25mg/1.25mg/body weight test group, and 4mg/18mg/body weight test group and the Control, respectively. Each group comprised of Eighteen (18) Albino Wistar rats each, which were weighed using a weighing balance and well labelled; before experimentation. The Artemisinin Drug justs were administered to the albino rats via their Oral routes using a 2mL Syringe and 1tablet of Artesunate was dissolves in 74.6mL of Olive Oli, and 1tablet of Pyrimithemine and Sulfadoxine was dissolves in 151.5mL of Olive Oil. Therapeutic dose (TD) of 0.46mL, 0.44mL, 0.45mL, were given to the Male abino rats in group IV according to their respective body weights of 185g,177g, and 180g; while Therapeutic dose (TD) of 0 43mL, 0.35mL and 0.40mL were administered to the Female Albino rats in group IV according to their respective weights of 170g, 140g and 161g for One week. Half(1/2) therapeutic dose of 0.19mL, 0.19mL, 0.20mL were administered to Male Albino rats weighing 146g, 149g and 157g respectively for One week and 0.18mL, 0.21mL 0.17mL were given to Female Albino rats weighing 142g, 166g and 141g respectively for One week, while Quarter(1/4) therapeutic dose of 0.11mL, 0.11mL and 0.10mL were administered to Male Albino rats weighing 169g, 178g and 151g respectively for One week; while 0.08mL 0.12mL and 0.10mL were administered to Female Albino rats weighing 133g, 188g and 165g respectively for One week.The Artesunate, Pyrimithemine and Sulfadoxine drugs were administered in a dose dependent fashion of Therapeutic doses(TD), half therapeutic dose(1/2) and Quarter therapeutic dose(1/4) in regards to the individual weights of the rats for Twenty eight(28) days.. The Control of Diethylstibesterol, Proviron and Olive Oil were administered in a dose dependent manner of therapeutic dose, half therapeutic dose and Quarter therapeutic dose to the Control rats in group VI, VII and VIII respectively for twenty-eight (28) days. After the experimental period of 28days, the animals were sacrificed, Blood Samples were obtained with the Serum.separated via Centrifugation and collected into Clean plain tubes and Biochemical analysis were carried out using ELISA to analyse PSA, CA125 and CA15-3 Cancer Markers Induction.The ELISA automation was used to assay for the presence or absence of PSA, CA125 and CA15-3 Cancer Markers induced.Data obtained was analysed SPSS Software version 26.0 and difference between groups was determined using T - test . The results showed that the Artesunate, Pyrimithemine and Sulfadoxine does not cause Cancer, the drugs does not induce PSA in patients, does not worsen the PSA level in Cancer patients, the ACT may not worsen Cancer in individual with Prostate Cancer I'm dose dependent manner
