ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to determine the nutritional values of the leaves of Alchorneal Laxiflora using standing analytical method (proximate analysis). Three sample of the leaves of A. Laxiflora were taken and analyzed for it's nutritional content. The result of leaves revealed the presence of moisture content 11.5%, Protein 22.73% Ash 7.62%, Crude fibre 34.2%, Fat 16.3%, and Carbohydrate 7.45%. The proximate analysis of A. Laxiflora leaves extract show a high level of crude, fibre, and crude protein with little bit of carbohydrates, Ash, fat and moisture content. Their uses can be viewed as a good source of nutritional and therapeutic elements that can be explored in the field of nutritional and pharmaceutical industry.
