SUMMARY

The results of this investigation point to the potential therapeutic use of aspalathin in the treatment of oxidative damage and the prevention of mercury chloride-induced changes in the oxidative stress indicators. Aspalathin therapy slowed down peroxidation and improved the body's antioxidant defenses. As a result, it can be said that adult Wistar rats treated with aspalathin were protected against the harm caused by mercury chloride despite exposure to the chemical causing varied degrees of alterations in tissue architecture and antioxidant defense mechanisms.
