ABSTRACT
One of the most popularly used potential therapeutic plants worldwide is Andrographis paniculata. The common cold, diarrhea, and fever from numerous infectious causes are treated with this plant traditionally as an antioxidant, liver and cardiovascular health tonic, and treatment for common cold. All parts of the plant are used to extract the active phytochemicals, albeit their chemical makeup varies widely depending on where, when, and how they were harvested. To understand how Andrographis paniculata aqueous extracts can help prevent CCL4-induced liver damage, it is necessary to first understand some key liver markers. It analyzes the impact on levels of glutathione peroxide, catalase, and superoxide dismutase. These markers are critical for understanding oxidative stress and liver health. Because they had no discernible impact on GPX levels (p ≤ 0.05), Andrographis paniculata extracts had a minimal impact on oxidative stress in CCL4-induced liver injury. However, both extract groups significantly differed from the Normal Control in terms of CAT (p ≤ 0.05), but only the Ethanol Extract significantly differed from the CCL4 Control. Additionally, different from the Normal Control was the CCL4 Control.
