ABSTRACT

This study investigates the influence of procurement integration on supply chain performance within the Edo State Civil Service, Nigeria. With public sector procurement being central to efficient service delivery, integrating these processes into the broader supply chain management (SCM) framework is essential for optimizing resources and reducing operational inefficiencies. This research employs a survey design, targeting employees within the Oredo Local Government Council, Edo State, to examine how internal, external, information, operational, and relational integration impact overall supply chain performance. The study uses descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses to explore relationships between integration types and performance metrics, such as operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Findings suggest that robust internal integration, supported by technology, enhances communication and coordination among departments, while external integration facilitates collaborative partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders. However, infrastructural and technological limitations significantly impede effective information flow and relational integration. Additionally, the socio-economic instability in Nigeria presents ongoing challenges to maintaining a resilient and responsive supply chain in public sector organizations. The recommendations of this study include policy adjustments to improve infrastructural support, increased investment in SCM technology, and targeted training for civil service employees on SCM best practices. These measures could potentially serve as a model for similar public sector organizations across Nigeria.
