ABSTRACT
This research investigates the complex contentious and concerning issue, information and the factors contributing to the expropriating of farmlands in ovia-north. The study examines the consequences of farm land expropriation with a view to identify any deficits and suggesting possible ways of enhancing expropriation processes in the community. This research adopts the quantitative survey design using a questionnaire as the means of primary data collection) to seeks the opinion of the farmers and members of the community. This study, thus, relied on a combination of a systematic identification and review of literature and a questionnaire survey of 105 was administered to farm owners in ovia-north, this was analyzed using descriptive statistics. This Findings reveal that farmland are being exploited regularly and are mostly exploited by unauthorized and unknown individuals, discovered several problems were also associated with land expropriation in that area. Evaluating the problems associated with the recent expropriation in ovia-north was also an objective to be carried out. This require practitioners to demonstrate care, consciousness and a set of data collection. This study makes a significant contribution to the body of knowledge by providing empirical evidence on the implications expropriation of farmland has caused for both rural communities and broader agricultural landscapes, while it is necessary to allocate land for infrastructure development, the process must be taken with careful consideration of the rights and livelihoods of affected farmers and communities. This research has as well exposed in many cases, the lack of clear legal procedures, inadequate compensation and insignificant transparency in the decision making that led to grievances and community unrest.
