ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to look into the issues that University student teachers face during teaching practice and how to address them, using University of Benin as a case study. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. The population was made of 2080 students from the final year students of the faculty of Education, University of Benin City Edo State.
The descriptive research design was used for the study. The Questionnaire was used as the Instrument for data collection which was validated by two (2) experts in the Department of Educational Fundations. The Reliability of the instrument was determined by the test-retest method and using statistical method. The rating was scored using statistical data to calculate the reliability.
The findings revealed that the issues faced by student teachers during teaching practice is as a result of so many factors such as; lack of proper transportation facilities /Poor road network, shortage of subject specialist, exploitation of student.
