Through an in-depth interview method, there became an opportunity to shed light on the challenges and prospects of managing an Arts Council in Edo State. The various roles within the council involve programme planning, resource allocation, and community engagement. The management structure ensures effective administration and strategic decision-making. The prospects of the Arts Council lie in fostering creativity, promoting cultural engagement, securing funding, and creating an inclusive arts environment. The insights gathered from the in-depth interview shed light on the intricacies of managing an Arts Council and provided valuable perspectives on its potential future. One of the key challenges discussed was the need to overcome limited resources and funding constraints. To address this, the Arts Council is exploring innovative strategies such as partnerships with local businesses and seeking grants from governmental and non-governmental organizations. Additionally, the council is actively working on building community collaborations to enhance cultural engagement and participation. In terms of prospects, the emergence of public outdoor performances in Edo State has had a significant impact on contemporary artists.
