ABSTRACT
This study investigated the impact principals’ administrative style and teachers’ job satisfaction in secondary school in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. To guide the study four research questions were raised and answered directly. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of seven hundred and seventy (770) teachers from the 30 public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo state. a sample of a hundred (100) teachers from 5 public secondary schools was randomly selected for the study. The research instrument used to gather data for the study was a Questionnaire titled "Principals Administrative Style and Teachers Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (PASTJSQ)". Data collected were analyzed using the descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and research questions answered using he mean statistics. The findings revealed that the dominant administrative style used by principal in senior secondary school in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State is the Democratic administrative style. The study also revealed that the level of job satisfaction among teachers in Senior secondary schools in Ovia North-East local government of Edo state was High. Findings from the study also revealed that principal administrative styles have influence on teachers' job satisfaction in senior secondary schools in Ovia North-East local government of Edo state. It was concluded that principal administrative styles influence teacher motivation and commitment in senior secondary schools in Ovia NorthEast local government of Edo state.
