Infection with H. pylori continues to be a significant public health issue in Nigeria. The frequency and the risk factors for contamination of H. pylori contamination were investigated among the students of the University of Benin. 328 students picked randomly from the university's various faculties had their blood samples taken. A questionnaire was used to gather information for social demographic statistics. The H. pylori rapid diagnostic kit was used to test for H. pylori positive. Chi-square analysis was used for statistical analysis. 57% of students were male and 43% were female, respectively. H. pylori infection was present in 32.6% of the research subjects. The study population's average age was 21.6 years, with a range of 16 to 59 years. Between the H. pylori positive and negative students, there were no statistically significant differences. There was a statistical difference in the students' reliable sources of water (P=0.0416). The increasing prevalence of this disease among research participants is highly correlated with participants' ignorance about the H. pylori infection transmission routes.
