Preparation of bar soap from local soap made from palm husk and plantain stem using honey as a natural additive

ABSTRACT

The results concluded that the honey modified soap keeps a balance among the physiochemical properties. It tends to contain minimum amount of moisture will increase the self-life and high amount of total fat matter is beneficial in providing sufficient skin lubrication during washing process. It also need to keep lower levels of caustic alkali to reduce harshness on skin and cloth; higher pH values makes the soap basic and lather easily.
