ABSTRACT

Gum infections, particularly gingivitis, remain a prevalent oral health issue. This study evaluates the antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties of a polyherbal formulation using Syzygium aromaticum (clove), Zingiber officinale (ginger), Curcuma longa (turmeric), and Aloe vera extracts. The research involved phytochemical analysis, antimicrobial assays, and elemental composition evaluation to determine the efficacy of these natural ingredients. Results indicate significant antibacterial activity against key oral pathogens, with the formulation demonstrating notable inhibition zones, minimal inhibitory concentrations, and bactericidal effects. The presence of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and phenolics contributes to its therapeutic potential. The findings suggest that this polyherbal remedy could serve as an effective natural alternative for managing gum infections, offering a promising solution in oral healthcare. Further clinical trials are recommended to validate its application in mainstream dentistry.
