ABSTRACT

Nigeria has seen more than sixty years of freedom, yet the issues of corruption, insecurity, and neglect of duty have endured. Nigeria has turned into a haven for terrorist activity. Aged individuals in power rule the country carelessly as long as they and their families are happy without considering the needs of the people. Is it possible for Nigeria to have a new administration given the current state of the nation? Can existential issues like the protection of life, property, and liberty be resolved? Is Nigeria due for a change or revolution? The aim of this study is to clarify the meaning of youth in its various delineations, such as from the perspective of WHO, UNESCO, the Nigerian constitution, and others. Also, discovering the causes of Nigerian juvenile underdevelopment, as well as the violence and discrimination experienced particularly during the ENDSARS protest. Who can be held accountable for societal transformation and social change is of particular importance? This project intends to inform Nigerian youths about their responsibility in enacting transformational laws and social change. Without a question, the youths have contributed significantly to achieving this, but much more has to be done. Therefore, the method of critical analysis is used to look into how the Nigerian government has fallen short of resolving the country's existential problems and defending the lives, property, and freedom of Nigerians. It also exhorts the youth to take advantage of the current situation while it lasts. In this study, the ENDSARS protest will be evaluated critically, along with its role in Nigeria's social change movement and the answer to the question of if Nigeria is due for a change or revolution.
