ABSTRACT
This research project emanated from the question of how political leadership affect and promote economic security. It also seeks to understand the idea behind policies formulation and implementation that positively and negatively affect the provision of substantial economic security in Nigeria there by measuring the level of impact political leadership plays in the sphere of economic policy enhancement and furthering development and growth in the lives of the citizens to curb poverty and hardship. Therefore this project was aimed to answer this question taking a case study of the president MuhammaduBuhari’s administration and drawing facts from historical records, press report, journals and also respondent offered questionnaire. Consensus efforts were made to first formulate hypothesis and drawing connections between variables leading to further testing of this hypothesis the obtaining fact through comparison of data collected and supporting the hypothesis statement to prove or backup this thesis. Secondly, derivation of terms given conceptual interpretations and further exploring to a degree, the foundational elements of concepts and their empirical frameworks. Then creating a nexus to link both concepts in chapter one. Following the success of the above the researcher employed research method to formulate a formidable research thesis through systematic collection of data and sample size for the survey ahead then stating the limitations of the study to prepare the work for the consequent research and analysis. Chapter four encompasses the presentation and analysis of data derived during the field survey through the issue of questionnaires to various respondent derived from the sample size, then analyzing this details and feedback from the respondent then generating answers that answers the research question through quantitative data analysis and computation. Therefore the consequent chapter encapsulates the whole section of the project and offered recommendations for further studies.
