ABSTRACT

This research was essentially undertaken to evaluate the petrophysical properties by using a software called Petrel, for each of the reservoirs identified in the study field. which is located on latitude 005 42’ 42’’ and longitude 006 26’ 40’’. These properties include gross thickness, net sand, net to gross, porosity, water saturation, hydrocarbon saturation and the type of fluid present. Four reservoirs, SAND 1, SAND 2, SAND 3, and SAND 4, were identified that was penetrated by well Edea’s-007. The reservoirs were evaluated using gamma ray log, resistivity log, neutron log and density log. The reservoirs were penetrated at depths 1470.34-1490.37ft, 1515.19-1539.84ft, 1547.90-1563.67ft and 1568.71-1592.19ft respectively. The porosity, water saturation, and hydrocarbon saturation ranges are (0.3325-0.3681), (24.09-26.50%) and (73.50-75.91%) respectively. The reservoir rock type is basically sandstones intercalated with shales which constitute the source and the seal rocks. From the result of the average petrophysical parameters, it can be inferred that these reservoirs are economically viable for hydrocarbon production and further studies could be employed to give more hydrocarbon.
