Abstract
This work assessed empirically, the influence of petroleum profit tax on the growth of Nigeria economy. As tropical issue applicable data for the work were secondary sources namely the Central Bank of Nigeria, the declaration by the Bureau of Statistics for time frame of fourteen years that is 2007 to 2020. The ordinary least squares approach was used to interpret the collected data alongside other diagnostic tests which were also carried out.
However, premised on the analysis carried out the study concluded that it is of no reservation that Revenue from PPT and economic growth are important in Nigeria and also proposed that the money received from PPT should be utilized by government to develop infrastructural facilities, societal commodities, services and should equally use the resources wisely and transparently so as to promote accountability. Again, it should spend wisely and transparently to spur economic growth, job prospects, and income generation in the economy.
