METHODOLOGY: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2024 among Nursing students of The University of Benin, Benin city using a multistage sampling technique. Data was collected using a structured self-administered questionnaire. The sample size was calculated using the formula for estimating one proportion for a descriptive cross-sectional study. Data was analysed with IBM SPSS version 25.0 and the level of significant was set as p < 0.05. Data presentation was done using graphs, frequency tables and prose. RESULT: A total of 260 respondents with mean age (SD) of 22.10 ± 4.10 years participated in this study. Majority of respondents 151 (58.1%) had poor overall knowledge of migration and its types. 178 (68.5%) of respondents indicated a high likelihood of migrating to another country after their studies. Most of the respondents will prefer to migrate to Canada after their studies, mostly for employment and residence; and improving the health care system, increasing salaries along a multitude of changes is needed to reduce migration among nursing students.
