ABSTRACT
This essay examines the issue of identity in We Need New Names By Noviolet Bulawayo and Nervous Condition By Tsitsi Dangarembga. The approach deployed in this essay is the qualitative method of data collection. The major purpose of this work is to adequately examine the identity representation of an African person. Different criticisms of this work from different scholars and authors are employed connotatively and denotatively to explain the various devices which are majorly implored in this work. This work gives an insight into the unspoken truth of social and political issues which is responsible for shapening an African person, and the complexities of identity formation .Hence, the beauty of this work delves into the ideology of the diverse identities of an African person, their experiences and why they behave the way they do.
