ABSTRACT

Personality differences significantly influence workplace dynamics, affecting job performance, satisfaction, interpersonal relationships, and overall organizational success. This study explores Personality Type as a Workplace Issue: A Narrative Enquiry of an Introvert and Extrovert, focusing on how these two personality types navigate workplace environments, challenges, and opportunities. Using a qualitative research approach with a narrative enquiry methodology, data was collected through in-depth interviews and workplace observations involving professionals across various industries.

Findings reveal that introverts often excel in independent and analytical tasks but may struggle in highly interactive environments, while extroverts thrive in dynamic, social settings but may find difficulty in roles requiring deep concentration or solitude. The study highlights the necessity for organizations to adopt inclusive workplace policies, such as flexible work arrangements, personalized leadership strategies, and team diversity initiatives, to maximize employee potential.

This research contributes to organizational behavior, human resource management, and workplace psychology, offering practical recommendations for businesses, HR professionals, and policymakers. It emphasizes the need for personality-awareness training, leadership development tailored to diverse personality types, and government policies that promote workplace inclusivity. Future research should explore longitudinal studies on personality development in careers and the role of personality in remote work environments.
