ABSTRACT
The study is an examination on perception of select secondary school students in Oredo local government, Edo state on the sexual content in Nigerian movies. It is known that there has been an increase in the number of portrayals and amount of sex featured in these media and an increase in the explicitness of these portrayal. It also sought to explore the extent to which it is been perceived by select secondary schools students who are viewers of the sexual contents in Nigeria movies. The survey research method was used to gather data used for the study. Findings of the study revealed that the students from select secondary schools using copies of questionnaire to gather information from 200 respondents in select secondary school in Oredo Local Government in Edo State. The findings also revealed that the students of select secondary school considered the sexual contents as bad, unhealthy, excessive and irrelevant in most cases. The researcher therefore concluded that the extent to which the student from select secondary school is not high and they consume more of foreign movies. Based on the findings from the research, the students think it is irrelevant in most cases. The researcher therefore, recommended that the producers should pass across sexual act swiftly and also with caution.
