ABSTRACT

The research project is based on the need to identify what second-hand products are and the motives for their consumption. This study considers second-hand products in Nigerians with particular focus on second-hand cars also called Tokunbo cars. The methodology used in sourcing for information was the use of questionnaires.

Major findings show that consumers buy second-hand cars because they are cheaper and sellers sell because sales in second-hand cars are lucrative, that is, it yields more profits. Due to time constraints, a total of 120 questionnaires were administered to get information.

Necessary conclusions were drawn based on the fact that consumption of second-hand cars is a matter of personal choice or income of individuals. My recommendation is that though second-hand cars are cheaper also  they have their risks.
