PERCEPTION OF PREMARITAL SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP AMONG UNDERGRADUATES

ABSTRACT

This research work assessed students’ perception of premarital sexual relationship among undergraduates in University of Benin. The objective of this research work is to viii investigate the perception of premarital sexual relationship among undergraduate students. Descriptive research design was used for the study. The population of the study comprised of .... and simple random sampling technique was used to select two hundred (200) students from the faculties in University of Benin. The instrument for the study was a questionnaire which was designed based on the research questions raised. The Cronbach Alpha was used to determine the reliability of the research instrument. The instrument was validated by three experts. For reliability ofthe instrument, the coefficients of 0.822, 0.740 and 0.698 were obtained for perception of premarital sexual relationship, factors influencing perception and consequences of involvement in premarital sexual relationship respectively. The data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation to answer the research question.
