ABSTRACT

The study examined the perception of human trafficking among residents of Oredo local government area of Edo State. Survey design was adopted for the study. The population of study consists Of male and female from 18years and above. The simple random sampling techniques and convement sampling techniques were various applied in this study at different stages. Data were collected using primary and secondary method. Data were analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). Descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage distribution were used to present the data in a tabular form. The finding of the study reveals that poverty and unemployment is responsible for human trafficking. The study concludes by recommending that government should enact stringent laws to deter perpetrators from engaging in human trafficking.
