ABSTRACT
In public senior secondary schools in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, truancy is influenced by a number of factors, including peer group dynamics, family background, school environment, instructor characteristics, and student factors. All hands should be on deck and everyone should be fulfilling their expected tasks towards the pupils' education in order to facilitate the intensification of efforts to stop this anti-social behaviour. that truancy should be viewed by society as a danger to the attainment of effective education for values, knowledge, skills, and the advancement of the country.
