ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to examine the perceived causes of sexual promiscuity among junior secondary school students in Egor Local Government of Edo state.
The descriptive survey research design was used for this study. Population of the study consisted of Junior secondary school students in Egor Local Government Area of Edo state. A sample of 400 students were randomly selected from the population. Questionnaire was the instrument used to elicit information from the respondents. The data collated were analyzed using the simple percentage and t test.
The findings from the study shows that peer group, social media, and family background significantly influence the engagement of Junior secondary school students in Egor L. G. A of Edo state in sexual promiscuity
It was recommended that seminars and workshops should be organized periodically on the dangers of promiscuousness in Junior secondary school students in Egor L. G. A of Edo state.
