ABSTRACT
This study assessed patient’s perception of the quality of healthcare service in some health institutions in Benin City, EdoState. It adopted the descriptive cross sectional research design and multistage sampling technique was employed to select three hundred and seventy-seven (377) patients in the health institutions, Benin City, EdoState. A well-structured questionnaire was used as instruments of data collection.The data was analysed with descriptive statistics (frequency, simple percentages, means as well as inferential statistics(chi-squarestatisticaltest) to test the research hypotheses.These procedures were performed using IBMSPSSversion26.0 for windows.The level o fsignificance was set at p<0.05.The result showed that majority of the respondents had poor knowledge and negative perception towards the level of quality of health care services received. The study however also found that there is significant association between age of the respondents and perceived quality of healthcare rendered; also there was significant difference in the perceived quality of healthcare among the different health facilities. The study therefore recommends that government and multinational agencies should make concerted efforts to support health facilities to provide better quality of care. Also, A comparative study can be conducted among patients from other health facilities asides those attending Faith mediplex, UBTH and Central hospital, which arein theurban part ofthe state.
