ABSTRACT
Examining the discoveries outlined in this research, it becomes evident that the ways parents care for orphans and vulnerable children, along with the government's role, are critical and urgent concerns in Nigeria. This matter is intricate and vital as it directly shapes the well-being and opportunities of these children. In a country where children represent the future, providing them with a nurturing and stable environment is crucial for their growth and progress. This issue transcends individual struggles; it challenges our society's values and our collective commitment to ensuring the well-being of all its members. The challenges related to parental disposition, where parents are unable to fulfill their caregiving responsibilities due to various factors such as death, imprisonment, abandonment, or substance abuse, have far-reaching consequences for the nation. These circumstances have disrupted the lives of numerous young individuals, leaving them in vulnerable situations with uncertain futures. Beyond personal tragedies, this issue has profound societal implications, affecting the very fabric of communities and calling for a shared responsibility within Nigerian society. At the heart of this study is the complex issue of parental disposition and how government interventions impact the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in Nigeria.
