ABSTRACT
More than six decades after Nigeria’s independence, there is still a lack of conscious and central forum or stable governance in the sense of effective legitimate rule and essential public good. This study is necessitated by the failure of leadership in Nigeria.
It employs Ozumba’s Integrative Humanism as a step towards addressing the leadership and followership conundrum in Nigeria. In addressing the leadership-followership problem in Nigeria, Ozumba’s Integrative Humanism places man’s physical and spiritual wellbeing at the center of intellectual endeavor. Thus, man’s intellect seems to skewed towards the development of material resources rather than human resources.
This study adopted the critical cum-analytical method. Using the critical method, it examined exisiting assumptions, bias about integrative humanism and ultimately contributing to the discourse. It also suggested some recommendations in addressing the leadership-followership conundrum in Nigeria.
