ABSTRACT

“This study investigates the influence of organisational innovation practices: product innovation, process innovation, and managerial innovation on operational performance in the Nigerian manufacturing industry.The model was developed and estimated using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) on data collected from a survey that yielded 220 usable questionnaires from the respondents. The findings demonstrated that all the organisational innovation practices have significant and positive influence on operational performance in the Nigerian manufacturing industry in Benin City, Nigeria. The result shows managerial innovation practice dimension of organisational innovation practices demonstrates the highest positive correlation with operational performance and managerial innovation practice dimension of organisational innovation practices shows the least positive correlation with operational performance. This study suggests that s organisational innovation is a suitable influencing practice on the operational performance of the manufacturing industry. Therefore, managements of the manufacturing industry can use this instrument to assess the manufacturing industry innovation practices in Nigeria. The findings also imply that the relationship between organisational innovations attributes and operational performance will lead to manufacturing industry’s profitability.
